The new facilit
ies increased the South Charter School to 300 students for the current year, and upon completion of phase II (new 40,000 SF structure) will double the FTE count to over 600 students.
The State awarded ASPIRA South Charter a grade of "A" this past year. The Charter School, classified as a Title I School, continued to serve the most economically disadvantaged students in the area with 97% of the 8th graders writing at or above the proficiency level. The South Charter was also recognized by the Miami-Dade School District for maintaining high attendance rates and very strong parental involvement.
Raul A. Martinez, President & CEO, (picture right) acknowledged the dedication of Board, parents, students and staff for persevering with the project during hard economic times.
