ASPIRA believes immigration is a federal issue and opposes efforts by states to pass laws restricting immigrants, punishing employers or using local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws. ASPIRA also opposes

• militarization of the boarder with Mexico;

• discriminatory/abusive behavior against undocumented immigrants, and supports humane treatment of all undocumented immigrants;

• calls for constructing physical barriers on the border;

enforcement by local authorities of immigration laws.
