December 1st is World AIDS Day.  The purpose of this day is to bring together people from around the world to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate international commitment to working together to combat the epidemic. With more than 33 million people living with HIV worldwide, and more than 20 million lives lost, the need for prevention efforts and biomedical prevention research remains urgent.
