New York City, NY – The College Board and ASPIRA are pleased to announce a new national collaboration between their organizations with the mission to help improve college completion rates for Latino youth. Starting in November, the College Board will arm ASPIRA, the nation’s leading Latino youth service organization, with more expertise to help guide over 45,000 students through the college planning process by helping them prepare, apply and pay for college, as well as practice for the SAT®.
The Obama Administration released guidelines for the President’s decision to provide qualifying DREAMers with a two year work permit and temporary relief from deportation. This relief is without a doubt the most significant victory our movement has seen in decades. Now, with less than two weeks to go until August 15th – the day DREAMers can begin the application process — it’s necessary to get out the word on how to apply to every single eligible DREAMer. Previously, Taboas served as executive consultant on strategic planning and leadership within the public and private sectors, including Hispanic-serving educational institutions. He also served in the senior executive service, where he managed large systems, national programs and major facilities including Argonne National Laboratory.
