Raul Martinez, the President of ASPIRA of Florida, and a great leader of the ASPIRA movement, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 30th evening at 11:25 pm, after a valiant struggle with cancer.

It is with a heavy heart and profound grief, that we convey this sad news. To us, Raul was a great leader of ASPIRA of FL and indeed a leader of the ASPIRA movement nationally. He was a visionary who walked in the footsteps of Antonia Pantoja and brought her dream to life for thousands of young people. But more than this, he was a truly respected and admired colleague of us for almost 18 years, and we can also say that he was a dear, dear friend and indeed, our hermano.

Our prayers and thoughts are with his wife Damaris, and his family, including his very large ASPIRA family.

May God have Raul with Him tonight at the heaven ASPIRA Club. Que Dios lo tenga en la Gloria.  We will miss him greatly. Hasta pronto hermano!
